Sea Level Fire Department, Rescue Squad, and Community Center Inc.Chief's Desk

Sea Level Fire & Rescue has gone through a lot of
changes in the few years I have been chief.
Our Department is currently working on several projects.
We are always looking to improve our Department in any way possible.
We are currently striving
to accomplish the long and tedious process of improving our ISO rating.
What this means for the citizens is a decrease in home owners insurance.
This process is very pain staking and requires a lot of effort from the
members and staff. It is our plan to
reduce the rating by early 2013.
As always, we are
constantly working to provide the best care we can humanly can.
We currently provide Advanced Life Support but are always looking for
better ways to offer that care. We
have staff members that are finishing up EMT-Paramedic classes and have others
that are currently enrolled to begin classes soon.
I am so proud of the effort they each put in to assure that the citizens
they serve are protected.
I would like to take this
time to thank all the members and staff for their hard work.
There is not one person that can do it all but; together we are stronger
than ever. Each member must put in
countless hours of training to assure mastery of the skills they are expected to
perform. Each Fire Fighter must have
a minimum of 36hrs of training each year.
Many of them surpass this requirement.
EMS providers must maintain certifications in addition to their State
Certification.
And to the Citizens; on
behalf of Sea Level Fire Department, Rescue Squad, & Community Center
Incorporated, thank you all for your support.
Each of you is very important to our operation.
Without the tax dollars you pay, donations you make, and prayers offered,
this Department would not be here. I
am happy to announce that Sea Level Fire and Rescue has been able to ask for
reductions in taxes for the FY11-12 budget on both the Fire and EMS Side.
The specifics on these savings can be found on the homepage of our
website. Please know that my door is
always open for your questions, comments, concerns, or just a friendly coffee
break. God bless you all and stay
safe.
